Epitec POSITION: Data Modeler JOB TYPE: Full-time, W2, contract with ongoing need, Hybrid role 3 days weekly in office PAY RATE : $72.00 - 78.00/hr. with benefits LOCATION: Tempe, AZ or Chicago, IL JOB SUMMARY FOR DATA MODELER: This Senior Data Modeler position will have extensive and exceptional data modelling and SQL skills with strong Power BI development skills. He or she will have previously created data models to support application development frameworks and can derive data driven application capabilities from code driven application code. Some Power BI experience with DAX Measure, Bookmarks and Field parameters to create flexible user-defined Power BI experiences is also needed. SQL skills will also be extensive. The modeler will need to be able to support others and quickly adapt the model to write the SQL to populate the framework as well as determine the best way to apply the framework to various dashboards. He or she will be creative and by able to apply his or her experience on a regular basis. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DATA MODELER: The Senior Data Modeler will work independently under the Product Manager to expand the common data model that is designed to ensure that metrics and other data are consistent across all dashboards with proper performance, security, and scalability. Work closely with the Product Manager to develop and expand the core data model and its capabilities. Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to quickly learn and apply our data schemas and metrics. Create, develop and improve conceptual and logical data models. Implement relational data models and maintain a data dictionary. Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to ensure alignment of model. Collaborate with BAs and Power BI developers who will implement the model. Follow NT guidelines and best practices and help define design standards for enterprise data model development. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR DATA MODELER: Level 3- Senior- 8 years overall experience is desirable SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR DATA MODELER: 3 Years of Power BI Development that demonstrates advanced skills 7 Years of SQL experience modelling data and writing complex queries GIT for version control Expertise with ETL, data modeling Expertise with complex SQL queries Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required. Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required. Strong communication and collaboration skills Object-Oriented Framework development is a plus Experience with Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse) a plus Experience with Collibra and/or other Data governance tools a plus Why should you choose Epitec?
