Information Technology Support Engineer

Our enterprise-level client in Acton, MA, has a need for an IT Support Engineer. Please see below for full details—Job Notes:--6+ month contract / extendable and likely to go perm with good performance.--Onsite in Acton, MA--Drug & Background check required.--Hours: 7am - 5pm (Mon - Fri).--This hire will work 9 days straight totaling 80 hours. They get Friday off every other week.--Pay Rate = $23-26 w2 per hour depending on experience.Job Description:--Under general direction, this position provides technical support for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers and related systems including a variety of peripheral devices.--Performs moderately complex installations, upgrades, and backups of software and hardware applications.--Determines the method and procedure for resolving routine software and hardware failures.--May identify network issues that relate to personal computers.--Provides technical information, prioritizes, and determines appropriate action routine request from all levels of employees.--Prepares and maintains various electronic and hard copy reports and logs.Essential Functions:Under general direction with instructions for new work or special assignments:--Installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of moderately complex personal computers and peripheral devices.--Sets up and tests personal computer systems, peripherals, and software, including operating systems.--Provides general hardware and software support for users, provides user training, and guides users having difficulty with personal computers, peripherals, or software.--Performs routine diagnosis on failed equipment and software and coordinates repairs.Identifies and reports network issues.Why Choose Merge IT?We have a team of talented and ambitious professionals that drive growth by identifying and delivering top quality IT talent for our Fortune 100, enterprise-level clients (aka ‘Big Name’ - think big banks, big pharma, etc.).We would love to connect with you!
