Description:

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Director's Office.

This position is responsible for researching, developing, and recommending Health and Human Service reform initiatives.The position will report directly to the Chief Innovation Officer.

The position will focus on the implementation of human service reform initiatives, policy options, and proposed legislation. The position will analyze the initiative, policy option or proposed legislation for state and federal regulatory conformance, implementation feasibility and desired outcomes. This position will be responsible for tracking the progress and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Knowledge of program development and evaluation.Knowledge of Medicaid, human service and/or other programs.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to be detailed-oriented yet recognizes the big picture.Ability to interact with diverse groups, federal officers, staff, and subject matter experts.Ability to research and interpret federal and state health care regulations.Meet minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in health care, human services, business, or public administration.Four years' experience in health insurance, Medicaid, or health care programs.Must include technical writing experience with state plan amendments, waivers, program policy or similar documents and experience interpreting state and federal laws, rules and regulations.Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.Experience with Medicaid or CHIP programs, rules and regulations are preferred.How to Apply

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
