Job Summary:
A-Lert Construction Services is hiring MIG and TIG welders to join the team in our Decatur, IL Shop. You must be able to set up the equipment and clamp, grind, or bolt the materials into the proper position before welding. You will also inspect the final products for quality, so you should be able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical drawings. Applicants must be able to pass an MIG weld test.
Primary Duties:
Set up welding equipmentWeld steel and aluminum according to blueprintsClamp, grind, tack-weld, or bolt components into position before weldingInspect final products for quality standardsTroubleshoot issues with welding equipmentMaintain a clean and safe work areaMinimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificateCredentialed MIG welders preferredAt least one year MIG welding experiencePhysically must be able to : See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and work easily and skillfully with hands. Lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Stand for long periods. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach hard to get at work areas; and use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.Other Requirements
Must pass weld testSuccessfully pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Criminal Background, Physical Exam, Customer Security Check, E-Verify, Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable), other assessments (if applicable)Attendance - Must be available when scheduled for workPay & Benefits
