Job Description

At NorthBay Health the Database Sustainment Specialist (DSS) serves as the database Administrator for Facilities and Clinical Engineering Computerized Maintenance Management Software System (CMMS). This position provides direct support for regulatory compliance documentation, including The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care, Life Safety and Medical Equipment Management Plan requirements. Responsible for administering and monitoring for quality the CMMS database used for regulatory required facilities and medical equipment maintenance documentation for all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ's) including but not limited to TJC, CMS, FDA, Cal-OSHA, OSHPD/HCAI and CDPH. Job functions are performed with attention to detail and quality, and are completed independently with minimal supervision.

The DSS will be located at NorthBay Medical Center and support both hospitals and all medical office buildings. The DSS shall participate with Facility Management and Clinical Engineering Team meetings, as necessary. Each new DSS must receive initial comprehensive CMMS training designated by the CMMS Training Manager. Each DSS must be prepared to travel to remote locations under the NorthBay Health organization.

Qualifications

Education:

High school graduate or equivalent. Advanced education desirable.Experience:

Two years or more familiarity with medical facilities, systems and/or equipment maintenance preferred. Knowledge of hospital organizational structure and operations preferred. Two years of database management experience preferred.Skills:

CMMS database management experience is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided. Working knowledge, familiarity, or background in medical facilities and/or medical equipment is desirable. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Record keeping, filing systems, database management skills required. Ability to perform work standing/walking for extended periods of time. Flexibility to appropriately manage variable and competing priorities. Must be fluent in all phases of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with an Engineering/Biomed CMMS preferred.Interpersonal Skills:
