Job Description

As a Principal Product Owner,

you will lead the execution of mid to large-scale client deployments, ensuring projects are completed within scope, on budget, and on time. You will also be responsible for meeting end-user requirements and addressing issues with effective resolutions and risk management strategies. This position involves ongoing stakeholder management, as you will oversee the overall success of each project. You will also take on Product Ownership responsibilities as part of this role.

Review process flows (Miro) to understand current state business processesParticipate in deep dive with business stakeholders who may not have technical detailsCreate process flows (Miro) to document future state business processesReview current state UI/UX designs (Figma), gap analysis, and work closely with the designer to either make changes to existing designs or create new ones that meet business goalsCreate product requirement documents (PRDs), including feature summary, business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteriaDevelop short-term and long-term product roadmap[Good to have] Collaborate with engineering team to breakdown user stories to tasksAbility to adapt to client's needPathway to Success

Expectations

Customer Facing - You will interact with customers on a regular basis, sometimes daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly. Common touchpoints occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives.

Training - Ongoing with first-week orientation followed by a 90-day onboarding schedule. Details of the timeline can be shared.

Responsibilities

Outstanding proficiency in documentationTake the lead of scrum teams as the Product OwnerProviding vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirementsPrioritize needs among scope, budget, and timeframeOversee all stages of product development, including planning, refinement, review, and sprintEnsure that the team always has an adequate amount of prepared tasks to work onPlan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the productDefine product vision, road map, and growth opportunitiesAssess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategyProvide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user storiesWork closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROILead the planning product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalitiesAct as primary liaison between teams and stakeholdersProvide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint GoalsResearch and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the productAnticipate user needsDevelop user stories and define acceptance criteriaAnalyze preferences and requests of end users, then translate into future iterationsFollow our competitors and the industryEnsure product aligns with company mission and goalsKeep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trendsEnsure security of data with proper Agile frameworkEvaluate product progress at each iterationPlan/schedule for benchmarks, releases, and future upgradesEstablish initiatives and align with cross-functional goalsPrioritize defect resolution (bugs)Requirements and qualifications

Must be a U.S. residentPrior government experience is requiredProven experience managing large, complex projectsPrevious working experience as a Product OwnerExperience managing all stages of the product life cycleMA in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field or technical backgroundIn-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principlesOutstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsCreative thinker with a visionAttention to detail
