General Description
The Resettlement Outreach Specialist works in close coordination with associated program case managers, other program staff and program partners to provide direct and support resettlement services to newly arrived refugee families sponsored by CCFCS. Responsibilities focus on working directly with refugees in the field - bus training, in their homes, in the offices of refugee service providers and in the community at large.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides transportation and support the provision of required services for clients, including obtaining basic needs such as clothing, getting to and from health care appointments, and addressing educational needs of the familyProvide bus training on a weekly basis to all newly arrived refugee adultsAssist the refugees in acclimating to their new community and cultureParticipates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainingsActively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and DiverseOther duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Combination of education and experience will be considered.Credentials: Valid and clean NYS drivers license and valid registration and insurance documents.Experience: One year professional driving experience preferred.
