The Mortgage Loan Officer is primarily responsible for marketing Seacoast Bank's residential products outside the Bank thereby developing referral relationships through realtors, builders, site agents and other outside referral sources. They also build relationships with internal line of business partners to deepen existing Seacoast Bank relationships. This position is expected to lead business development in both Residential lending and acquiring new deposits, focusing on the Hillsborough and Pinellas county markets while also developing market leadership presence in the local community. Consistently gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. This person must have a presence in this geographical market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successfully collaborate within first 90 days with Loan Processing, Underwriting, Closing, and Secondary Market lines of business to understand the process.

Consistent communication with leadership and peer mentor to ensure understanding and expectations of the MLO.

Proactively solicit business and conduct sales-related activities in Realtor/Builder offices, builder models, etc.

Meet customers face to face during the application and proactively expedite the process by meeting at the customer's office or other suitable location.

Collect and provide mortgage related information to realtors.

Counsel borrowers, take application, and collect/review documentation.

Review documents to assure qualification and submit qualified loan applications to processing.

Build relationships with internal partners across lines of business to deepen existing Seacoast Bank relationships. Treat internal bank referrals with the same exuberance as outside referrals.

Attend closings, open houses, referral client lunches, local business association meetings, and/or other outside business generating activities. These activities are considered necessary to produce, increase and sustain an acceptable level of production to be successful in the MLO role. Business development activities must always be RESPA compliant and otherwise consistent with regulatory, bank policy and Seacoast determined best practices.

Responsible for maintaining calling reports and prospective loan sales pipeline reports.

Accept loan applications and the collection all required applicant information while following Fair Lending performance standards and ensuring fair and equal treatment to all applicants. Ensure adherence to BSA/AML requirements of Customer Identification Program. Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Associate Code of Conduct and Sales Practices Policy, acting in the best interest of the applicant and their credit needs. Proactively helps to resolve customer concerns in a timely, professional, and positive manner, escalating issues to the next level of authority as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent years of experience required.

College degree in a financial related discipline preferred.

Highly prefer experience within the Hillsborough/Pinellas county market and the surrounding areas.

2+ years of origination, processing, underwriting, or closing experience preferred.

5+ years in business development and/or financial services experience required.

Demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

PC Proficiency in Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Smartphone devices as well as Microsoft Office Suite software.

This position requires after hours and regular weekend efforts.
