Stock Clerk

Location: Fort Riley, KS, US

Essential Responsibilities:

The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and compiles stock records of items. This worker contacts local vendors and purchases parts and/or services once approved by government officials. The Stock Clerk sorts incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice; examines stock to verify conformance to specifications; stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material; fills orders or issues supplies from stock; prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock; and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. The Stock Clerk also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, location changes, and refusal of shipments; may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles; may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued; may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock; and may cut stock to site to fill order.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Knowledge of U.S. Army procedures and logistics information systems.Strong customer service skills.Ability to perform various production control activities including gathering and filing records, reporting on use of materials, monitoring customer requests.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications.Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 30 pounds.Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.A strong understanding and experience in G-Army.Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.NACI/CAC Required.Must provide a signed DD Form 3150 to confirm COVID-19 vaccination status and provide proof of vaccination.
