Purpose:Manage the commercial relationships in the Northeast US & Canada region including: Quebec & New Brunswick Canada, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island . The incumbent will also support the Sales and Marketing function in delivering the commercial objectives and strategy.Essential Functions:Manage sales for the assigned region to meet or exceed budgeted targetsCoordinate activities with related functions (i.e. manufacturing, planning, finance, credit, customer service, quality, supply chain, etc.) to implement the SBU sales and marketing strategyManage the day-to-day contact with buyers and other customer representativesWork closely with customers, glazing contractors and architects to develop relationships, establish requirements, and identify opportunitiesWork extensively with architects to promote and specify NSG productsAnalyze customer requests and ensure appropriate actions are taken within the business liaising with manufacturing, planning, quality, etc. as necessaryFully understand the assigned market and all implications to the businessIdentify and develop new customers and business opportunities per the commercial strategyEvaluate the quality and delivery performance for nominated customersMonitor and report on commercial and competitor activities within the defined regionAdherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and PrinciplesOther duties as assigned by managerTop 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the Role: Engages and Inspires Others - Works collaboratively and builds trust to develop enduring working relationships with othersCustomer Focused - Actively seeks to understand internal & external customer circumstances, problems, expectations and needsInnovation and Change - Open to change and actively interested in new developments, technology and emerging market trendsQualifications Required:BS/BA degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related fieldPrevious experience in a technical field with commercial sales experience or customer exposureExcellent analytical skills with strong technical knowledge base to discuss client needs and make appropriate recommendationsExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsProven leadership skills and ability to multi-taskComputer proficiency, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work alone or in teamsAbility to adapt to a changing work environmentMust be willing to travel up to 75% of the time, including to and from and CanadaPossess a valid driver's licenseLive in the sales regionQualifications Desired: Knowledge and experience with commercial glass productsTechnical Sales experienceFluent in FrenchWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.
