This position requires the individual to work out of our corporate office in Greenville, SC.
The Product Development Associate collaborates with the Product Line Manager to prepare seasonal product lines, support the product development process to meet quality and calendar requirements, and act as a liaison between merchandising/product development, production, sourcing, and sales for development and production needs. The incumbent is responsible for driving newness and innovation across fabrications and trims, while also partnering cross functionally to ensure that the end goal of achieving superior product meets all company and legally mandated standard.
Crew Position:
Product Development
Tracks garment protos / sales samples/ Size Sets/ PP activities and monitor timely receipt to meet all deadlines. Monitor timely receipt of garment throughout product development Lead weekly cross functional WIP and product development meetings Communicate directly with Mills and Overseas offices, regarding all raw material requests, sourcing, and seasonal development details. Responsible for maintaining the status of all fabrics, handlooms, trims, & prints in PLM (development) (Newtimes). Maintain fabric and trim library for effective sourcing/counter sourcing. Manage daily income and outcome packages, sort and pass the submits to design team Fabric and Trims
Partner with design to identify new fabric and trim development needs. Provide development needs to mills and/or raw materials suppliers to develop materials Maintain all data for each fabric, claim, and/or initiative, including supporting claim documentation and traceability documents. Make sure this information is always updated, accurate, and changes must be communicated to the appropriate team members in a timely manner. Color
Communicate color approval status and any corrective color comments. Ensure and maintain color standard matching records from lab dips, shade bands, handlooms, and strike offs approval through production dye lots. What all hands on deck looks like...

Know the ropes:
Bachelor's degree in Design, Merchandising, Textile Science, Business or related program degree. Generally, 4+ years' experience in textiles, supply chain, and garment development or manufacturing is required. Strong computer skills - specifically within Microsoft Suite. Experience with WFX PLM, Adobe Illustrator and CLO, a plus. Understanding of textile color development, evaluation processes, and visual color acuity. Experience in developing fabrics based on end use and price point including fibers, spinning, yarn size, and weaves, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques. Experience partnering with offshore vendor to develop and evaluate a material from inception to production. Skillful in textile and material testing protocols (AATCC, ASTM, and global norms). Follows and understands AAFA and RSL chemical safety guidelines. Preferred knowledge or exposure to product labeling/safety requirements.
