Job Summary: Assists in the preparation of deliverables of the Financial Reporting Group.
Job Responsibilities:Supports the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules on both a GAAP and statutory basis.Prepares and/or reviews general ledger entries, account reconciliation / analyses.Contributes to key ongoing and developing accounting matters of varying degrees of complexity including CECL, Goodwill analysis, Limited Partnership accounting, and equity transactions.Responsible for assisting and completing various filings with regulatory bodies including the SEC, Division of Insurance, Department of Labor and AM Best.Engages with the company's internal and external auditors to fulfill requests and provide support during the annual audit and quarterly reviews.Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of sound financial and accounting controls.Supports Investor Relations function including presentations and marketing materials.Provides financial analysis and forecasting support to senior management including the analysis of trends, maintenance of forecasting models, and budgeting.Research emerging accounting and financial reporting issues to assess relevance and impact to the company and to ensure proper application in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules.Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent5 to 7+ years of public accounting experience with financial reporting and analysis required.Property and casualty insurance accounting and SEC reporting experience desired.Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint desired.Prior managerial/supervisory experience desired.CPA preferred.
