MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science

Minimum 8 years of experience in voice networking, with significant exposure to both Cisco and Avaya voice systems

Cisco Certifications: CCNP Collaboration (or equivalent)

Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, Cisco UCCX, and Avaya Aura

Strong knowledge of SIP, H.323, MGCP, and voice gateways (ISR, ASR, etc.)

Proficient in call routing, dial plans, QoS, and troubleshooting of voice-related issues

Experience in integration and migration projects involving Cisco and Avaya systems

Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jabber, WebEx, and Microsoft Teams

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Problem-solving mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

Willingness to travel - not required

Avaya Certifications: Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS) or Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS)

Additional certifications in network security or other related fields

Knowledge of cloud-based voice services such as Cisco Webex Calling or Avaya Cloud Office

Familiarity with scripting and automation for voice network tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell)

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDINGWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cisco Certified Voice Engineer with a strong background in Avaya systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in voice networking, including Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM), Avaya voice solutions, and SIP-based telephony systems. The role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex voice networks, integrating Cisco and Avaya systems, and supporting the organization's unified communication needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs, deploys, and manages voice infrastructure, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco UCCX, and Avaya Aura systems

Diagnoses and resolves voice network issues related to Cisco and Avaya platforms, including SIP trunking, call routing, dial plans, and voice mail systems

Works on projects involving the integration of Cisco and Avaya voice systems, and assists in voice network migrations or upgrades

Configures voice gateways, routers, switches, and call manager settings, including QoS policies, voice VLANs, and dial-peers

Monitors voice network performance and implements measures to optimize call quality and system availability

Provides support for various unified communication tools, including Jabber, WebEx, and other collaboration platforms

Maintains documentation for voice network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, and provides regular performance reports

Offers technical support and training for end-users, and collaborates with the IT team to ensure seamless communication across the organization
