Starting hourly pay $14.30-$14.65, depending on experience.

The Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department is looking to recruit observant and safety-minded lifeguards to help ensure the well-being of visitors to aquatic facilities, including the Wentzville Rec Center! Lifeguards will need to assess situations quickly, make sensible decisions regarding the safety of swimmers and maintain public orderliness all while looking awesome in their summer shades. You will play a key role by enforcing all aquatic center policies to provide a safe aquatic environment and will also lead private, semi-private and group swimming lessons, as well as working special event pool rentals.

The Lifeguard's typical duties include ensuring patron safety at aquatic facilities and leading group swimming lessons and other aquatic programs. This position will also ensure that swimming pools are operational during the shift, clean pool deck, stainless steel, restrooms, guard office, and vacuum pools.

This is a part-time position, not to exceed an average of 28 hours per week.

Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.Lifeguard certification required by opening of pools to public.Prior experience as a lifeguard desired.CPR and First Aid certifications are required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
