We boast a team-oriented culture that encourages open communication and partnership to provide exceptional patient care within our facilities.Job Summary:Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthcare. While physician specialties might vary, the commonality across specialties is that physicians primarily work to diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. They often do this by performing physical exams, taking medical histories, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending a plan of treatment.Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects.Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.Graduation from an accredited medical school as a M.D./D.O.Successful completion of Internal Medicine residency and at an accredited healthcare institution.Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License as a current M.D./D.O.Board certification in Gastroenterology from said fellowship.Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) requiredCurrent Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing requiredWhat We Have to Offer:Generous Compensation:
