The ideal candidate is an expert in modeling, simulation and vibrations analysis of complex physical systems. The position includes a need to develop, test and validate various models against real world collected data.
The candidate will leverage their expertise to transform theoretical approaches into real world functional systems that meet product requirements.As we are a small startup the role will have a large amount of autonomy and the candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where requirements may shift and decisions need to be made with limited information.This role is located onsite in our office in Waltham, MA.MS in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Physics or equivalentMinimum of 10 years applicable professional experience in the robotics or automation industryExpert in system dynamics, simulation, modeling and vibration analysisExpert in developing free body diagrams and governing equations for complex physical systemsExpert in use of sensing (load cells, accelerometers, others) to characterize a complex physical system/modelStrong problem-problem solving, communication, and teamwork skillsPreferred QualificationsPhD in Mechanical EngineeringSignal processing experienceExperience running finite element analysisProficient with SolidWorks and preparing engineering documentation per ASME Y14.5 for production release.Expertise in performing static and dynamic load calculations and performing kinematic analysisMatlab or Python experience
