Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)Specialty: Med SurgLocation: Clare, MI 48640Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-Hour Nights)Duration: 13 WeeksJob Description:The Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in a medical-surgical setting. The role involves preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications, as well as performing a range of clinical tasks to ensure patient comfort and care. The RN will work with general medical, surgical, oncology, observation, and hospice patients.Responsibilities:Safely prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications according to established protocols and physician orders. Monitor patient response and report any adverse reactions in a timely manner.Perform and document routine nursing procedures such as changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs. Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed.Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, and report significant changes to the appropriate medical staff.Operate and interpret specialized equipment and instruments to assess and monitor patients, adjusting settings as required.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care activities, including medication administration, vital signs, treatments, and patient progress.Provide compassionate, individualized care to meet the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients. Offer comfort measures and education to patients and families regarding their treatment and care plans.Requirements:Experience:Minimum of 2 years of recent Med Surg experience is required.Experience in Med/Surg Observation is required.Oncology, observation, hospice, and medical/surgical patient care experience is preferred.Recent travel experience is highly preferred.Licensure/Certifications:Michigan RN State License (LARA) and BLS (AHA) certification are required.
