This CNS will support the maternity units for Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. This position works Monday-Friday on our day shift. If you are looking for the next step in your nursing career with Indiana's #1 Healthcare system, apply today!The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a Masters prepared Advance Practice Registered Nurse whose function is to improve outcomes in patient care. Functioning in five sub roles including: Expert in Clinical Practice, Educator, Leader, Researcher and Consultant, who positively influence the three spheres of practice: Patient Care, Nursing, and Systems in their respective specialties. Previous experience working in a maternity unit is preferred.Nurses interested in becoming a CNS are encouraged to apply. Bachelor's degree of Nursing (BSN) required. Master's in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) required. (Or enrolled in current CNS Masters Program) Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license and meets regulatory requirements to practice as a CNS. Requires 3-5 years of advanced clinical skills typically gained through nursing experience. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
