COMPENSATION:

$108,840.00 to $191,247.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

About Our Opportunity

Our Data Solutions Architect is responsible for designing data solutions for our internally developed applications that meet evolving business needs, align with our overall data strategy, and balance technical considerations. This role will work closely with our application delivery teams to design transactional data models, process and tooling that optimize a balance of performance, scale, flexibility, speed of delivery and data quality as appropriate.

How You Will Spend Your Time

Data Solution DesignDesign detailed data models and architectures for our internally developed applications that align with our broader data strategy and governance policies. This includes selecting the appropriate technologies and platforms to support business needs effectively and collaborating with data warehouse and integration teams to ensure transactional data models and processes support our analytics and reporting needs.

Integration and Implementation.Provide guidance and consultation with delivery teams on technical implementation details of data solutions ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and architecture. This will involve collaborating with developers, database administrators, business analysts and shared services teams.

Data Governance and Security.Partner with enterprise architecture, data quality and governance stakeholders, and security team members to contribute to and implement data governance standards and data protection policy.

Strategy Alignment.Partner with other architects and leaders to understand the long-term vision and strategic goals of our association's data architecture. The data solution architect must ensure that each solution contributes to these overall objectives, facilitating a cohesive data strategy that supports business evolution and innovation.

Learning and Knowledge.Continuously seek learning opportunities to grow relevant skills and keep current with industry trends in data and technology.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent relevant work experience) in computer science, data sciences or related field. 4 years experience working on database development projects and/or designing data architecture. Experience with SQL stored procedures and complex SQL to develop secure, performant, and flexible solutions. Experience with software development lifecycle and software development common practices (code reviews, unit testing etc.).

While engaged in this position, team members will routinely sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally. Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds. Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. This role may entail a blend of mental and physical capabilities, requiring strong mental acuity, problem-solving skills, and occasional physical tasks such as standing, lifting, or extended computer usage. Some roles may require physical or mental requirements related to driving, such as a valid driver's license, and the ability to drive a long-distance.
