Job Summary

Location: Detroit, MI

This position has overall responsibility for assigned projects including oversight of the development and execution of operational strategies, maximizing profit and return, and meeting safety and environmental objectives. Directs the activities of Asset Managers in support of assignments and projects across the entire investment portfolio.

Provides periodic assistance in the development of new projects and analysis of potential acquisitions either directly or through direct reports. Collaborates with Director of Operations and staff to embrace best practices throughout operations. Ensures conformance with all business plans, contractual agreements, and performance objectives. Develops and reviews annual departement budget and participates in the review of actuals and forecasts of financial performance for the business unit.

Key Accountabilities

Sets overall strategic objectives and establishes priorities for the assigned business lineWorks with Director of Operations and Controller and staff to share and implement best practices throughout the organizationDelivers financial results in accordance with a pro forma or budget; implements corrective actions where requiredDevelops and executes strategies to maximize profit and returns including contract origination and modifications, capital improvements, deal restructurings and market price risk hedgingSupports the evaluation of acquisition and development opportunitiesBuilds and maintains relationships with key decision makers within customer & stakeholder organizationsLeads team to ensure compliance with project agreements and environmental marketsLeads or supports negotiations to modify key project agreementsExtensive knowledge of contract terms and conditions and the ability to administer complex contractsKnowledge of the regulatory processes and compliance regimes under which facilities operate and generate & monetize environmental attributes, as applicablePerforms all related duties as assignedMinimum Education & Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, finance, operations management, industrial technology, engineering, or a relevant scienceTen or more years of experience in asset management, finance, operations, project development or an equivalent role in a construction, manufacturing, or service environmentOther Qualifications

Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external audiencesUnderstanding of the technology utilized by the facilities and how it relates to the commodities and environmental attributes created by DTE VantageStrong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous activitiesAbility to critically review and support the capital appropriation process from conception to completionFamiliarity with building a positive presence within host communitiesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel; familiarity with email, scheduling, commitment tracking, customer relations and time reporting software applicationsProven ability to take tasks, assignments, and projects from start to completion without significant supervisionOther Requirements:

Proven ability to develop effective working relationshipsDemonstrated problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to manage using delegation and empowermentSignificant experience with budgets, operating plans, income statements and pro forma modelsIn-depth understanding of the financial impact of operational and maintenance decisions at a facilityAbility to respond quickly and effectively to operations and logistics problems in order to initiate immediate involvement and timely solutions from affected organizationsPhysical Demands & Working Conditions
