Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as a Controller in the Construction Industry. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing company, where you will play a crucial role in managing and improving our financial systems and procedures. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and internal control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of the construction industry and a keen eye for identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities:

As a Controller, your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Managing the production of the annual budget and forecasts. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
3. Ensuring the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
4. Overseeing the company's transaction processing systems and implementing operational best practices.
5. Supervising the accounting staff and managing team performance.
6. Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
7. Collaborating with external auditors and managing the audit process.
8. Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
9. Evaluating and advising on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in using ComputerEase or equivalent software.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to make sound decisions.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data.
8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
