Basic Purpose:

This position is responsible for training and directing the work activities of new hires for the packing area.

Essential Job Functions: Assists workforce in the efficient preparation for production and completion of the assigned tasks Supports daily production to ensure safety goals are achieved, productivity goals are met, production schedules are attained, and downtime of equipment is minimized Applies discretion and progressive discipline to accomplish objectives and to enforce company policy, establish and maintain all necessary lines of communication Train and instruct employees as necessary and proactively respond to variances, emergencies and shifting priorities Follows HACCP and Food Safety principles and verify compliance to all Critical Control points and Preventative Quality Checkpoints to ensure a safe quality product is produced consistently Acts as backup to various functions on the production floor, as needed Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to GMP's, allergen program, quality, HACCP, sanitation, safety Other duties as assigned Required Job Qualifications:

Minimum two years' experience in a production capacity or related role in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or equivalent preferred Completed packaging programming skills training Proven strong safety record Ability to work well with and command the respect of associates and team members Ability to make simple math calculation & measurements is required Ability to read & speak basic English Bi-lingual with Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred Effective communication skills with coworkers and supervisors Possess manual dexterity to manipulate machinery Must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height on an intermittent basis Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with internal and external customers Understanding of basic principles of the SQF program and other food safety policies/procedure Available to work overtime/weekend as needed Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly required to work around operating equipment, stand, reach, pull, stoop and bend While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is frequently required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, use tools or controls, and climb or balance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, low levels of toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock and explosives. The noise levels, in the work environment, can be high. Hearing protection is required. Compensation and Benefits:

New starting wage is $17.50 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on shift schedule.
