Overview of the RoleThe Community Program Manager will oversee the implementation of new solutions that imply conceptual, process, product, or organizational change, which ultimately aim to improve the welfare and wellbeing of older adults in Washington DC. This role will serve as a community liaison, lead initiator, role model and documenter of the emergent social impact strategy to address social isolation and food insecurity among Washington DC's older adults.

DepartmentThis position works under the direction of the Director, developing and mentoring new outreach to address social isolation and food insecurity. The position will also manage programs with an eye towards expanding their impact and improving partnerships. Work takes place both in an office setting and in the community. The position directly supervises Nutrition Site Aides, Dining Site Recreation Managers, and the LGBTQ Coordinator.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Assist with conducting public meetings with stakeholders, sharing information about transportation and other program services provided by Seabury.

Ensure that data points are developed and monitored along with other program evaluation criteria. Ensure monthly data for programs are submitted accurately and timely for review and approval.

Manage the nutritionists who supervise the community dining site managers, including activities calendars and food supplement programs.

Provide counsel and support to the Seabury DC director regarding program initiatives.

Ensure that expenses and income align with budgets.

Create relationships with community members, the Department of Aging and Community Living, and other partners looking for opportunities for collaboration and program enhancement.

Provide guidance and supervision to the LGBTQ Coordinator and Out & About Programs Contractors.

Attend ANC and Community meetings monthly in Wards 5 and 6.

Communicate information to residents and other stakeholders on various community issues.

Coordinate and schedule outreach activities including distribution of information to residents.

Research, curate, and distribute articles related to social isolation and food insecurity to encourage and support participants.

Maintain documentation of engagement with participants in CSTARS.

Compile routine data to support activities and outreach goals to provide to management upon request.

Follow up with potential new participants and stakeholders seeking services.

Ensure resources are accurately stated and conveyed to customers.

Meet all deadlines for reporting service units according to the set schedule that reflects engagement efforts with participants and community stakeholders on a daily and/or routine basis.

Conduct individual socialization calls on clients utilizing the Seabury DC transportation services.

Review DACL client intake and nutrition screen forms to ensure completion of required information to provide services.

Serve as a floater at the Community Dining Site in the absence of the Community Dining Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

5+ years of related experience in community-based or social program design and implementation.

3 years minimum of supervisory experience.

Creativity, flexibility, visionary thinker.

Experience building relationships with external partnerships, strategic relationships, contractors, and vendors.

Excellent writing and communication skills.
