For more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs.Job DescriptionThe Senior Trial Attorney represents insured clients and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and Allstate Financial cases. The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key ResponsibilitiesConducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents.Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses.Keeps claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.).Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions.Reviews new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approves initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and/or develops strategy.Investigates and pursues subrogation litigation as appropriate.Drafts post-trial motions.Tries and/or arbitrates cases by preparing motions, motions in limine, and summary documents.Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.).Ability to work and travel within the Northern VA area.Education4-year Bachelor's Degree (Required).Juris Doctor (Required).Member and in good standing with Virginia State Bar.Experience5 or more years of experience (Preferred).Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job does not have supervisory duties.SkillsCustomer Centricity, Digital Literacy, Documentation Review, Evidence Gathering, Inclusive Leadership, Learning Agility, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Litigation, Results-Oriented.CompensationCompensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - $152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity that takes your skills and pushes them to the next level.Good Hands.
