OverviewThe NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking a Senior Director for Student Leadership, Engagement, and Careers who will oversee the SPS Wasserman Career Center for Career Development and the Office of Student Life and Engagement of the NYU School of Professional Studies. The Senior Director will provide career development leadership and direction by designing, delivering, and directing programs, services, and major events offered to current undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. They will oversee student and alumni communities that ensure strong partnerships with employers, domestically and abroad, with the goal of career advancement and professional development. The Senior Director will develop student leadership curricula and oversee student life and engagement functions, fostering a sense of belonging among students by linking professional networking with personalized leadership development. They will manage program assessment, including the preparation and analysis of outcomes reports regarding program and service offerings. Collaborate with SPS academic leadership regarding strategic planning and programming, and serve as liaison with student clubs/leaders, alumni, university administrators, employers, and faculty. The Senior Director will develop and supervise professional and office support teams in the SPS Wasserman Center and Office of Student Life and Engagement.
ResponsibilitiesRequired Education:Bachelor's Degree in human resources, student personnel or related field.
Preferred Education:Master's Degree in human resources, student personnel or a related field.
Required Experience:10+ years relevant professional-level experience in career/student services, counseling, student personnel, human resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This must include experience managing staff and budgets and developing programs, seminars, events, and training materials.
Preferred Experience:10+ years experience in developing student leadership curricula.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent communication, presentation, writing skills. Leadership, hiring, training experience. Ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels.
QualificationsIn compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $130,000.00 to USD $170,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
