As a member of our highly dedicated team, you will acquire the unique set of surgical and clinical skills needed to provide measurably superior, compassionate dermatology care to patients of all ages.*Job Responsibilities:*The purpose of this role is to support our providers and patients by providing information, services, and assistance to the best of your ability while adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.*Job Duties:** Prepares patients for examination by rooming the patient and verifying patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit and capturing all Meaningful Use measures in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and PQRS.* Monitor patient flow by directing providers to the next patient; overseeing the providers schedule to maintain “on-time” status; check reception area to ensure all patients are accounted for.* Perform scribing tasks as directed by provider; prepare prescriptions indicated during the exam for provider’s and ensure they are sent to the applicable pharmacy on file.* Manage patient phone calls within your scope of practice and forward messages as needed to providers.* Contribute to a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all policies and procedures in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.* Ensure all supplies, exam rooms, and treatment rooms are properly sanitized and always stocked.* Assist with all surgical procedures; prepare consent forms for signature, organize instruments and/or supplies, clean, dry, sterilize/autoclave instruments.* Prepare liquid nitrogen containers for use at the beginning of each work period.* Prepare specimens for transport to pathology lab; keep biopsy book current; follow-up with final diagnosis and other data as directed.* Oversee refills of patient medications; call patients with instructions from provider as directed.* Copy, scan, and file all pertinent patient information.* Promote and instruct in the use of the patient web portal.* Maintain responsibility for compliance with blood borne pathogen regulations; assistance with the clinic policy and procedures; maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all supplies and medications.* Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; calling for repairs.* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.* Serve and protect our dermatology practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements including all aspects of HIPAA regulations.* Enhance the practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.* Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential.* Other duties and tasks will be assigned as needed based on business need.* Site-to-site travel will be required based on business needs.
