Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to operate machinery in the plate area cutting, beveling, and punching plates to prepare materials for welding and fabrication. This position is responsible for handling all plate area activities, checking quality of product, saw cutting, punch operations, welding and beveling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the quality of product before final shipmentContinuous improvement in support of department and company goalsSupports, participates and encourages team buildingOperates machinery for cutting and punching platesPlaces workpiece on table manually or by using overhead cranesAligns workpiece to scale and end gauge on machine and clamps it to the tableProvides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments and the supervisorPromotes a positive work environmentFollow all Porter Corp. procedures and policiesWork safely and efficientlyStay customer focusedPerform other duties as assignedCompetencies (check all that apply)

Basic computer skillsDemonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
