The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September. 6 East Transplant is a 22 bed intermediate PCU/medical-surgical unit. There is a central monitor system for the step down rooms and a separate one for Tele. Five of the 22 beds have bedside monitors to accommodate transplant patients who need to be closely monitored. The predominate population cared for are pre- and post-operative transplant (liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas), nephrology and urology patients.
