One of our clients in the insurance industry is seeking an skilled Database Administrator to join their shared services operations team supporting a variety of Data Management and Data Warehouse initiatives across multiple public and private clouds. They are looking for someone who can proactively automate and integrate database administration processes and tools as to focus on larger initiatives that provide business value. Create and mature database observability and monitoring, and efficiently improve the maturity and scalability of the database administration function. They also must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of database and automation technologies, SDLC or Agile, DevOps and Cloud Platforms.
Specific Responsibilities Include
* Script automation code to reduce manual work
* Manage databases: Creating, scaling, and configuring cloud-based databases, including security settings and network access
* Monitoring performance: Ensure the database is running smoothly and troubleshooting any issues
* Recognizes, identifies, triages and resolves processing and/or data issues; escalates to the appropriate resource where required.
* Provides feedback to the development team regarding bug fixes, enhancement requests and other issues.
* Optimizing performance: Tuning SQL queries, indexes, and other database parameters
* Ensuring data integrity: Ensuring data is secure and compliant with company policies and regulations
* Managing backups and disaster recovery: Creating and testing disaster recovery plans, and ensuring backups are created on schedule
Compensation:
$60/hr to $75/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
