The Cloud Storage Engineer will play a critical role in the maintenance, modernization, and further development of continuous monitoring plans and actions for an Army intelligence system. The Cloud Storage Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud storage solutions to support our organization's digital transformation and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the cloud storage infrastructure is scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

Job Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze storage performance, implementing optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Implement and manage data backup, recovery, and archival strategies in the cloud.Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud storage architectures, processes, and best practices.Migrate and modernize on-premises storage to cloud environments, ensuring minimal disruption and optimized performance.Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot NAS protocols and solutions.Creates and configures volumes, disk shelves, and RAID groupsOversee storage allocation, manage space, and implement replication strategies.Install, operate, and maintain network and storage appliances.Develop new standards and procedures for end-user and internal interface development.Install patches and perform system updates.Requirements

.IAT / IAM Level II Certification (Security+) with Computing Environment (CE) certificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Professional experience may be substituted for degree)At least 8 years professional experience in an Information technology related field.Experience with VMware vSphere & IP based storage technologies.Experience with routers, switches, patch panels, associated terminals, and related network hardware and softwareKnowledge of desktop operating systems and applicationsKnowledge of cloud storage solutions and technologies (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, etc.).Experience with cloud migration projects and data management strategies.Understanding of networking, security, and data protection principles in a cloud environment.Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in Storage Area Network (SAN) administration and supportExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their respective storage services.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) & Microsoft AzureExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their integration with cloud storage.Associate or Professional-level AWS Cloud Certification
