Role and Responsibilities
The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems, hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff to work effectively.
The major responsibility is to ensure the administration and daily operation on the following systems:Cloud based and local client-based software.Administration of Infrastructure servers.Remote device management.Other Duties include:
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources.Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring cloud and locally based software.Create detailed procedures, checklists, troubleshooting documentation, and contribute to the team knowledge base.Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.Cross train, document and inform other team members on operational tasks.Provide remote support to end users/customers during off hours.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in information technology or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
Preferred Skills
Systems Administrators must possess strong technology skills, organization skills, structure, effective listening, and communication skills, handle multiple tasks and remain calm under stressful and challenging activities. A high proficiency in computer use, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are required.

The Systems Administrator must be available for on call responsibilities.
A proficiency with the following is highly desirable; OSI layer, Storage, Backup/Recovery tools and processes, Cisco technologies, Software management tools, Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, OS, Virus protection, Security best practices, Desktops, Laptops, Servers, video, telephony, Printers, Copy machines, Faxes, Databases, Networking, Basic wiring, technical Nomenclature, Client interaction skills.
