POSITION DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Provides functional and technical support in the areas of analysis, testing, report writing, security and maintenance for enterprise-level modules or systems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*Position Specific SummaryThe Business Analyst I position at the City of Tucson's Business Services Department is responsible for providing functional and technical support for enterprise-level systems, focusing on areas of analysis, testing, report writing, security and maintenance. This position enhances systems efficiency by analyzing business processes, financial reporting needs, and technology requirements.Work is performed under the supervision of the Financial Manager. This position does not supervise.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of finance information systems. Provides support in system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations to improve efficiency and accuracy. Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.Analyzes financial data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies. Provides ancillary information in report and dashboard development. Develops and maintains financial dashboards including performance metrics.Identifies opportunities to streamline financial processes and workflows. Evaluates change requests and implements strategies for improving or managing business processes efficiently. Implements process enhancements and monitors their effectiveness.Collaborates with finance, accounting, and other departments to understand their requirements and priorities. Serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams during system implementations or upgrades. Collaborates with business analyst team members and other business services functional areas.Assists to ensure finance information systems adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards. Implements controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks.Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.Working ConditionsMostly office environment.* All duties, responsibilities listed are subject to change.
