Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support design and development activities for both modeling & simulation and tactical software on a combat system fielding and sustainment effort.
Day to day activities include:
Supporting new capability designs within the Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis (MS&A) System-of-Systems (SoS) representative of the fielded combat system. Evaluate performance of advanced algorithms for inclusion in the software baseline Contribute to the development of analysis visualization tools Perform updates to threat configuration software Make updates and fixes to both the MS&A SoS and the tactical combat system software baseline to support sustainment efforts Education Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related STEM field.
Experience Requirements:
2 years with Bachelor's Degree; 0 years with Master's degree. Familiarity with modeling & simulation (M&S) design and development Familiarity with tactical software design and development Experience with programming in C++ and Java Experience with scripting in Matlab and/or Python Familiarity with scrum-based Agile software development processes and tools Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools Ability to work full time in a classified lab environment Special Skills Desired:
Master's degree in a STEM field Previous DoD program experience Model Based System Engineering experience Mission planning experience Command and Control (C2) and/or Weapons Control Systems experience
