UniversityHospitalLocation: Philadelphia, PAHybrid: Tuesday-ThursdayDuration: Contract to hireSenior Infrastructure Platform & Systems EngineerThe Senior Infrastructure Platform & Systems Engineer delivers technical solutions that align with business needs and industry best practices. They troubleshoot and fix problems related to private and public cloud infrastructure, plan and execute projects, and monitor system performance and availability. Moreover, they act as a technical escalation point for team members. The Senior Infrastructure Platform & Systems Engineer is responsible for helping to secure, maintain, and monitor the health of the infrastructure environment. They will help conduct utilization reviews, establish fault notification processes, analyze data to recognize trends and create automated proactive measures to prevent application downtime.Collaborates with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design technical solutions that meet various healthcare and research community needs.Leads the analysis of application and system metrics to improve performance and availabilityEnsures safety, confidentiality & security of employee and Patient dataImplement and enforce security policies, procedures, and controls to protect infrastructure systems and data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and compliance breaches.Promptly identifies, documents, and resolves problems with system functionalityCoordinates and adheres to strict project schedules and handles multiple assignmentsConveys problems, issues, and possible solutions clearly to team members, clients, and organizational administrationRecommends suitable technologies for the domains within the scope of responsibility.Manages project plans, monitors tasks and milestones, and reports project changes/statuses to team leads and managers.Assists with the development of new policies and procedures relating to system and platform design, enhancements, change control, and maintenance of the infrastructureWorks independently on complex projects, completing within the designated timeframe and under minimal guidanceInstalls and maintains systems and solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.Manages and supports Windows, Unix/Linux, cloud & virtualized infrastructure.Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data protection and business continuity.Analyze monitoring data to recognize trends and create proactive solutions to prevent recurring issues.Installs and maintains software , including operating systems and applications, on various hardware platforms, including system updates, patches, and configuration changes.Develop system and application support plans with key IT stakeholders.Assists with managing tickets for services, incidents, and change requestsAssists with CMDB maintenance and lifecycle managementProvides on-call and after-hours support to address incidents, maintain infrastructure, and support operational efforts.Coordinates with network, security, integration, application, and support teams to implement infrastructure components that support health system technologies and applications.Serves as an escalation point for technical and application teams.Review proposed designs/architectures, identify risks, and provide remediation recommendations in line with established standards and the enterprise's overall architecture.Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.Minimum of 5 years related experience requiredExperience in healthcare IT, preferredMinimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses:

MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Export (preferred)All certifications will be considered.Applicable vendor certifications are preferredRequired Skills:

High level of customer service skills and commitment to solving problemSkilled in carrying out and overseeing projectsSkilled in finding and fixing complex problems that involve multiple integrated applicationsMust have strong skills in analysis, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail.Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changesCan communicate effectively with healthcare staff at any level, such as: IT managers, consultants, clinicians, clinical leaders, etc.Must be able to work well with others and deliver a high standard of service to stakeholders.Strong understanding of data security and privacy standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA or equivalent.Familiarity with a method of managing infrastructure, platform, application, and security that emphasizes engineering principles.Demonstrated skill and judgment in prioritizing, influencing, and driving remediation and risk reduction strategiesTechnical Skills:

Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Technologies including enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, administration automation, and policy management.Advanced knowledge in planning, designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Windows Server and AD (Required)Advanced knowledge in high availability production environment (Required)Advanced knowledge in server best practices, baselining, performance management, monitoring, remediation, and update management of operating systems and applications.Proficiency with scripting to effectively automate tasks and processes using platforms and programming languages such as PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Python, Terraform, and Ansible.Understanding of network technologies such as firewalls, proxies, load balancersUnderstanding of common protocols and standards such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, TLS, SSH, LDAP, KERBEROS, NTP, CIFS, NFSKnowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux and AIX, including how to resolve problems and optimize performanceKnowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS and Fibre ChannelUnderstanding of virtualization or containerization technologies and platforms such as VMware, Xen, Nutanix, Docker, HyperV or Kubernetes
