Position Summary:

The Business Intelligence Developer/Enterprise Reporting Architect at Iowa Health Care Information Systems supports the transformation of clinical and operational processes by providing analytical insights for strategic initiatives within UI Health Care. This includes engaging with data stewards and stakeholders to understand workflows and processes to provide accurate, actionable information.

Position Responsibilities

Execute assigned projects and deliverables to support analytic activities and improvement opportunities aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and quality patient care.Coordinate and participate in the planning, definition, design, and implementation of all reports and applications in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders and data stewards.Manipulate, analyze, interpret, and summarize data through presentations in order to facilitate decision making for stakeholders and communicate findings of analyses.Responsible for data extracts, statistical analyses, data transformations and presentation of analysis utilizing appropriate tools.Document all aspects of process when developing analysis including requirements, design, decisions, logic, inclusions, exclusions, and code.Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) provides and supports information and communication systems and technology that facilitate quality patient care, progressive medical education, and innovative research.

HCIS services University of Iowa Health Care by providing comprehensive, high-level support for patient care delivery, internal and external communication, technology innovation, medical education, and research. Creating and maintaining a positive, productive, and rewarding environment for information technology and communication staff

$82,073.00

Education Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Required Qualifications

Typically, 5-7 years of reporting experience OR Strong experience in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and performance tune.Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentalsProven track record of researching, organizing, analyzing, and synthesizing data to support effective decision making.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to define system requirements and understand business reporting outcomes.Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as cooperatively with others.Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong customer service skillsDesirable Qualifications:

Experience working in a healthcare delivery setting with clinical, operational, or financial reporting experience.Proficient working knowledge of healthcare delivery/operational workflows and terminologyAdvanced analytical skills necessary for the evaluation of complex data setsEpic certifications(s) or experience related but not limited to the following: Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Administration, Caboodle Data Model, Clarity Data Model, etc.Advanced knowledge of analytics and business intelligence platforms (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or other similar tools.)Experience working with vendors to define system requirements, integration strategies, and implement interfaces.Experience working with technical and non-technical staff to refine and manipulate data.Experience providing education, support, and training of new staff members and customers.
