Role: Database Administrator

Client: DOD-Aerospace

Location: Nashua, NH

Duration: 6-month contract w/ possible extension

Hourly Rate: up to $59/hr (W2, non-benefited)

Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to install, upgrade, patch, tune, and support Oracle databases that underpin evolving applications. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in performance evaluation and a minimum of 10 years of experience managing and supporting Oracle databases. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be able to successfully obtain National Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:Implement and maintain smooth operations and the physical design of databases.Review database design and system integration, providing backup recovery and recommendations for enhancements or improvements.Maintain security and integrity controls.Formulate policies, procedures, and standards related to database management.Monitor transaction activity and utilization.Required Skills & Experience:

Strong experience with Oracle 19c, 18c, 12c, and 11g architecture and database infrastructure design.Expertise in Oracle Multitenancy, including the management and maintenance of Container and Pluggable databases.Proficiency in automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell scripting or other tools.Ability to develop processes and procedures to standardize database installations and configurations.Advanced skills in performance tuning, utilizing OEM or third-party tools, and a comprehensive understanding of Oracle optimizer behavior and new features.Experience with ASH/AWR/ADDM reports and corrective actions.Implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery environments using Data Guard.Strong experience with Solaris, Red Hat Linux, and Windows operating systems.Knowledge of Hyperion, MySQL, and Cassandra is a plus.Comprehensive understanding of Oracle backup methodologies, RMAN backups, and successful database restores.Experience in developing architectural and functional process diagrams for Oracle database services.Desired Skills & Experience:

Oracle OCP or OCM Certification.Experience with disk array storage solutions, preferably NetApp.Experience with backup and recovery solutions, preferably CommVault.
