We are in search of a Business Analyst to join our team and contribute to the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) Grants Management System, NexSys. This system is responsible for managing over 130-140 different grant applications and oversees more than 2 billion dollars in payments to state educational entities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, as they will be managing work requests to support operational needs for web applications and gather requirements for project initiatives. This role serves as the bridge between the technical team and the business client, spending about 90% of their time in this capacity. Key Responsibilities: Organize and facilitate meetings with the technical team and business client Independently lead requirement sessions to gather project specifications Manage backlog of work items in Azure DevOps Oversee project tasks, timelines, and communication between business product owner and development team in line with the Change Management lifecycle Monitor sprints and ticket progress in Azure DevOps Ensure team adherence to department change management policies Act as a liaison with State of Michigan auditors Maintain project documentation on the SharePoint Site Provide detailed, critical thinking Supply management with project status reports and resource demand projections The desired start date is October 21st, but this is flexible. The work location is hybrid, with 2 days in the office (Tuesday & Wednesday) and 3 days working from home. Full-time office work is also an option. The contract length is 12 months with the possibility of extension. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Skill Required / Desired Required Years of Experience Exposure to Complex IT web Applications, within the past 5 years Required 5 Years Experience in a professional office environment Required 5 Years Experience in a role, as a business analyst, supporting a software development project, in the past 5 years Required 3 Years Ability to conduct meetings, communicate at a level appropriate to the audience, make oral and written reports and presentations Required 3 Years Proficiency with MS Office Required 3 Years Experience working as a liaison between the development team and project manager or business client in a software development project Required 2 Years Experience with Azure DevOps Required 6 Months Knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Highly Desired 2 Years Project management skills and knowledge in project management and related methodologies Highly Desired 6 Months Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Highly Desired 6 Months Does this sound like the perfect fit for you?
