About ParadromicsWe are building a direct data interface with the brain to provide technology solutions to unmet medical challenges. A revolutionary leap beyond today's research-grade brain computer interfaces (BCI), our Connexus® Direct Data Interface (DDI) collects neural signals at an industry-leading high data-rate and is designed for long-term daily use. Our first clinical application will enable severely motor-impaired people to communicate and independently use a computer, translating their neural signals into synthesized speech, text, and cursor control. We will continue to expand the capabilities of our massively scalable platform to support a pipeline of future applications that could benefit millions.
The RoleAs a Platform Engineer at Paradromics you'll be developing and maintaining systems to automate and accelerate engineering and data science efforts across our research and development team. These systems span needs across hardware in the loop testing, data collection/curation, and data science pipelines.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain automated testing and deployment scripts, using tools like GitHub Actions, Ansible, etcDesign, implement, and maintain the infrastructure for our data science based applications, including data pipelines, workflows, and data storage solutionsEnsure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our applications in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments, using tools such as Kubernetes and DockerMonitor and troubleshoot issues with our CI/CD and data pipeline infrastructure using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, etc.Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of new features and tools for our data science infrastructureWork closely with our engineering, neuroscience, and quality teams to identify and capture needs and requirementsMonthly travel between our Austin and Oakland offices
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent through real world experience4+ years of professional experience relevant to this role
Required Qualifications
DevOps/Site Reliability experience with some familiarity using/managing data science and data pipeline related platformsExperienced in deploying and managing data pipelines and workflowsStrong understanding of cloud providers and servicesExperience using container technologies and orchestration with KubernetesHighly proficient in Python programming and Bash scriptingDemonstrated prior experience with multiple programming languagesExperience using automation tools like GitHub ActionsLocated in either Austin, TX or Oakland, CA
