JOB SUMMARY

Administers, tests, and implements computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems and storage administration. Coordinates changes to computer databases.

JOB DUTIES

Understands the basic principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and learns how to apply them within the ERCOT culture.Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.Contributes to specific objectives and outcomes as directed.ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

Level 1•Support Databases of Oracle 19C databases in 7/24 production environments•Support development, operations, and business teams with application installations and upgrades and associated database structure changes•Install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot production and non-production Oracle databases•Install, upgrade, maintain, monitor, and optimize Oracle GoldenGate to support "near-real-time" data replication•Performs housekeeping on defunct user accounts and historical data•Install and maintain Server database products, including patch application and upgrade of the environments•Develops and executes back-up and recovery procedures•Performs periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan•Audits user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the database•Develops and maintains proficient database development and design skills

Level 2 - Above +•Communicate clearly and effectively using written and verbal communication methods•Builds and establishes close working relationships with personnel in other ERCOT IT and Business groups•Works closely with development, operations, and testing teams to coordinate activities, resolve development and production issues, and perform application tuning•Performs database monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning•Develops and executes back-up and recovery procedures•Performs periodic testing of the database backup and recovery plan•Installs and maintains database products including patching and upgrading of environments•Creates/Maintains DBA scripts - Ansible/GIT/Python/Shell•Experience managing and maintaining database monitoring systems - Oracle Enterprise Manager•Coordinates with software vendor technical support•Audits user activity to ensure integrity and performance of the database•Coordinates and implements changes to development, test, and production environments•Implements and maintains multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling•Develops and maintains proficient database development and design skills•Performs GoldenGate replication monitoring and trouble shooting•Install, patch, upgrade, and maintain GoldenGate products•Establishes standards, policies, and procedures for GoldenGate replication administration•Participates in On-Call rotation providing after hours support as needed to Production database systems.•Maintain knowledge of NERC CIP and SSAE16 compliance standards and ensure those standards are maintained in database systems

EXPERIENCE

Requires minimum 2 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirementsRequires minimum 2 years of progressively responsible information technology work experience with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environmentRequires minimum 2 years in Oracle Data GuardRequires minimum 2 years in Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)Requires minimum 1 year with multi-terabyte databases and associated structuresEDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree : Computer Science, MIS or related field (Required)or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is require

Expected Salary Range:$90,220 - $153,380
