Overview:
The Triage Specialist provides assessment services (including evaluation, consultation and/or referral) for patients presenting with a psychiatric or substance abuse issues. This position serves a variety of populations, including adults, geriatric, child and adolescent populations. This position assesses the needs of patients and condition severity in order to make an informed decision regarding appropriate receipt of rehab services.Talent Pool: Allied HealthResponsibilities:
Assesses patients who present with behavioral needs in a timely manner to identify potential issues that may arise due to the patient's condition and flag to the correct party to prevent treatment that could adversely affect the patient.Conducts a behavioral health assessment to determine the level of care that best fits the patient.Consults with physicians in the evaluation of psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients to make determinations about care and treatment that are in the best interest of the patient.Documents and logs patient interactions to assist physicians and other clinical staff in determining the best course of action or in case a provider needs to reference this information.Communicates with the patient and clinical staff effectively to build a feeling of understanding and trust in order to best get and provide information.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Master's in Counseling or a related fieldEXPERIENCE:
Required: 1 year experience in Healthcare (Psychiatry preferred)LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:North Carolina provisional license in one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) or licensed psychologist.
