Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.We are seeking a dedicated IT Professional to join our dynamic team as a User Support Technician. This is a chance to be part of a team where learning is encouraged and the chance to advance your knowledge and experience is available.The User Support Technician applies understanding and knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist internal users through diagnoses and resolution of problems with follow-up steps. Takes remote support calls, and reviews trouble tickets to resolve our employees' computer software or hardware issues. Records issues and resolutions in our ticketing system, and coordinates escalation to appropriate technical, professional, or service personnel for services, repairs, and training. Additionally tracks assets and equipment, and monitors and responds to network and system issues.Responsibilities: Log all incoming trouble calls electronicallyProvides support to end users through diagnoses and resolution of problems with follow-up stepsResponds to telephone calls, email, and personal requests for technical supportEscalates calls to appropriate party with detailed information of the problemTracks and monitors the problem to insure a timely resolutionMonitors and manages IT asset inventory.Assists with research of new equipment and procurement of IT assets as neededAll other activities as assigned or directed by the department supervisor or manager Requirements: Associate's degree is required (2 years of IT support experience would be considered in lieu of), Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 1 year of related experience, specifically in user support preferredExcellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask are requiredValid NYS driver's license in good standingAbility to lift a minimum of 50 poundsMust be at least 18 years old to apply for this positionThis position is full-time, Monday-Friday and is 100% on-site at our Cohoes location.The compensation range for this position is $18.64 to $20.83. Rate of pay is commensurate on experience.
