Job Description:SimIS, Inc. seeks a Computer Network Support Specialist I to support DHS CBP's configuration and change management (CCM) process for maintaining the integrity of hardware, software, firmware, and documentation required to successfully transition and manage the Unattended Ground Systems (UGS) Program across five Border Sectors. The CCM Analyst provides configuration management (CM) to transition these UGS systems to the CBP Firewall infrastructure support FISMA Authority to Operate (ATO) activities. The work will be performed onsite at Ashburn, VA with travel between Ashburn and Springfield, VA offices.
Experience Required:Two (2) years of professional experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment.Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.Specific tasks include:
Writing network policiesConfiguring antivirus programsManaging content filtering systemsInterpreting network dataCollecting data on network performanceMaking sure the network is working efficientlyProtecting a network's securityInstalling or removing software and hardwareAdjusting security permissions
Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required:
High School Diploma. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, such as statistics, business administration, or computer science is preferred.CompTIA Network+ and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate or similar Certification.Current Public Trust Clearance.Benefits:
