IT Business Analyst - Hybrid 3-4 days/week Raleigh, North CarolinaW2 $50/hr Contract Renews Quarterly - 40 hrs/wk - paid for hours workedTop Desired Skills:Must have: Bachelors degree + 10 years experiencePreferred: prior work in the auto industry.Preferred: retail POS experience.Tools Used:SQL, ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, LucidchartResponsibilities:An analyst should have background knowledge of the subject to make data gathering efficient, or at lease have the skills to apply logical analytical thought to be a business issue.An analyst must understand the needs of their merchandising customers and quickly understand the business issues that require research.An analyst should utilize this knowledge in developing a response to the relevant issues.An analyst will elicit, analyze, validate and interpret data.The analyst must be able to assess risks and keep abreast of new policies, procedures or processes that may affect the data.An analyst should be able to provide forecasts based on historical and current data trends. Explanations should be made for data anomalies and trend shifts.On the basis of their research, an analyst will write reports and present results, providing guidance and recommendations to the merchandising team.An analyst must ensure that the material being presented is accurate and complete.An analyst must be a results-oriented problem-solver.Support of Merchandising Teams through analytics and reporting.Support of Category Management & Custom MixExperience:10 years related work experienceBachelors degree from a four-year college or UniversityPreferred Degree Concentration: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Engineering.Strong skills in MS Office products and AS400 are requiredSpecific experience in Access and SQL knowledge preferred.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and professional journals.Ability to write reports and business correspondence.Ability to effectively communicate information to: peers, stores, managers, and corporate leadership.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, gross margin, balance of sales and percentages.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and statistics.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Must demonstrate business acumen in understanding and applying corporate and category goals, strategies and initiatives.Ability to achieve basic user and advanced user certifications on business intelligence software within 12 months of hire date.
