Hardware Service Desk Intern (Full Year)

Overview:
Provide desk-side technical support and deployment service to Western & Southern Financial Services (W&SFG). Interacts with the Service Desk and/or IT Service Delivery teams to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Assists customers in resolving assigned hardware, software, integration and operation system-level problems in the desktop environment, including but not limited to onsite asset installation, remote and onsite problem diagnosis/resolution and advisory information in the use of desktop assets. Works with the ITAM team to maintain hardware and physical inventory controls. Works with some supervision and responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to Manager when necessary and updating Manager on a regular basis.Responsibilities:What you will do:Performs deployments of new computer hardware or movement of existing computer operating system upgradesPerforms physical installs/placement of equipment, data backup and transfer, imaging, configurations, application installs/setups, profile transfer and preparation of old computers and old pc hardware for disposal or redeploymentMonitors systems for tasks, outages and updatesKeeps abreast of industry trends and technology
Qualifications:Qualifications:Proven superior customer service skillsProven experience in desktop/laptop support in a professional environment, including Microsoft Office and other software setups, upgrades and troubleshootingStrong analytical skills, included demonstrated experience identifying and qualifying problems, interpreting data and providing effective resolutions. Cite examples of good decision-making skills when dealing with multiple alternatives.Proven experience working under multiple deadlines and minimal supervision. Cite example, including successful participation in project when given little or no direction.Demonstrated experience maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when handling demanding situationsWorking toward a 2 or 4 year degree in a technical field or commensurate selection criteria experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office productsFundamental understanding of Windows 10 and Apple operating systemsExperience troubleshooting basic PC hardware and printer issuesWork Setting/Position Demands:Works in an office setting that frequently requires being in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.Performs frequent movement of wrists, hands and fingers for continuous computer workEducational Requirements:High school diploma or GED
