Firmware Engineer - IntermediateLocation: Austin, TX OnsiteDuration: 12 MonthsThe Role:Platform Solutions Engineering team is currently looking for engineers who are passionate about the power of server technology and would like to be part of our inspired journey to greatly impact the world through innovation in server solutions.Our team is dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge technologies, such as our advanced chiplet design, the latest silicon process technologies, and our streamlined IO architecture, to build the groundbreaking products that meet tomorrows challenges in todays data driven world.Our team is looking for an energetic engineer to fulfill the mission-critical role of ensuring customers can deploy our EPYC designs, coordinating with firmware and SoC architects to develop robust, scalable customer platform BIOS solutions, producing quality, competitive and innovative customer solutions while minimizing time to market.The Person:A successful candidate will employ proven software methodologies, firmware design expertise, deep technical knowledge, strong customer communication, and well-honed organizational skills across multiple teams to ensure on-schedule, defect-free customer BIOS solutions.This will involve providing technical leadership and mentorship as the external face of firmware design team, while internally proactively managing issues and risks.To be successful you must possess the technical proficiency and interpersonal confidence to technically clearly represent design ideas, sophisticated problem descriptions, and innovative solutions with other developers as well as customer teams.Key Responsibilities:In-depth UEFI BIOS development experience mandatory, AMI bios x86 development experience.Design and develop AMI platform BIOS based on the silicon and board featuresC and ASM programming experience mandatoryExperience in server BIOS architecture mandatoryPreferred Experience:5+ years experience in BIOS, firmware, or system software development with proven knowledge of x86 system architectureExcellent C language track record, x86 assembly experience a plusKnowledge of server hardware interfaces (10G/1G Ethernet, SATA, AHCI, DDR3, PCIe Gen1/Gen2/Gen3, SPI, I2C) encouragedIntimate knowledge of RAS architecture preferredIntimate knowledge of PCIe Gen1/Gen2/Gen3, NVMe and PCIe Hotplug, DDR5 Memory preferredIntimate knowledge of software development process methodology expectedKnowledge of industry-standard initiatives such as (ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe) expectedProficient with Source version control systems like Git, Review tools like GerritStrong analytical skills and debug methodology encouragedEducation:BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE degree or higher with 5-7 years or MS with 3-5 years of experience in firmware development preferredCandidates should enjoy working in a dynamic team environment
