Senior Network Installation Technician

Job DescriptionTyto is searching for a customer-facing Sr. Network Installation Technician to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft. Meade, MD. This person will design and deploy network infrastructure that supports DOD Fourth Estate end-users spanning 20 Defense Agencies and Field Activities.Responsibilities:Lead network survey, design, and installations under direction of the government.Conduct Site Surveys of customer premise networks in CONUS and OCONUS locations.Create detailed Site Survey reports detailing a site's current infrastructure, NIST and TEMPEST compliance, along with design recommendations.Configure, install, test, certify, and troubleshoot network infrastructure cabling.Ensure Network cabling infrastructure is compliant with current NIST and TEMPEST Standards.Build and install equipment racks.Install, dress, label, and terminate Cat6 and Fiber cable in telecommunications rooms.Test and troubleshoot network infrastructure issues on SIPR and NIPR networks.Create accurate reports and documentation to design/certify network infrastructure.Track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner.Develop Bills of Material (BOM) for network plant design requirements.Plan and perform preventive maintenance and scheduled upgrades (life-cycle replacements).Investigate physical faults in the network.Report network infrastructure deployment status to key stakeholders.Have flexible working hours to be available to support off hour work, when needed.Required:Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.Understanding of ANSI/TIA-568 and 569 standards.Requirements of Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) for Classified Systems as directed by Security and/or the Certified Tempest Technical Authority (CTTA).Knowledge of National Security Telecommunication Information Systems Security Instruction (NTISSI) 7003.Knowledge of DISA network topologies and standards.Topology and rack elevations using Visio.Experience with various OTDR, cable testers, and network sniffers to develop reports for infrastructure certification documentation.Clearance Requirement:Active Top-Secret ClearanceMust be a U.S. CitizenCertifications: DOD 8570 IAT II Certification (Sec+ CE or equivalent)Preferred Qualifications: BICSI certification.Travel Required: Yes, 50% of the time.Potential for Telework:N/AAdditional InformationAfter several strategic acquisitions in 2021, Tyto Athene has experienced enormous opportunity and growth.
