Responsibilities:
Peraton requires Linux Systems Engineer to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3. Position is located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB Florida.Linux Systems Engineers perform tier three systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Governments software and hardware, Systems Engineers need advanced analytical, troubleshooting and design skills. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users also is essential. Systems Engineers must be familiar with the systems engineering process and data as a fundamental building block for performance improvement. Participation in working groups, design reviews and system tests are required. This position will help generate assessments, as well as develop and implement actionable recommendations based on reviews. Systems Engineers require extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance.Qualifications:Required Qualifications:Minimum of 10 years experience with BS/BABachelors degree in Computer Science or ITDoD TS clearance or higher is required10+ years of experience with systems and network administration3+ years of experience with network engineering3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOSExperience with managing virtual machines, software defined switching, and policy creation using VMware ESXi or vCenterKnowledge of planning and implementing Layer 2 and 3 network architecture, access controls, and associated polices using multiple vendor componentsKnowledge of bi-directional network transfer systems.DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant Certification.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with managing systems using Infrastructure as Code technologies, including Salt, Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell, Chef, or TerraformExperience with AWS and/or AzureAbility to use tools, including ACAS, Security Center, and SplunkRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
