As part of the Process Control and Safety Systems group, the Application Specialists will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with likeminded individuals to innovate and provide specialized solutions designed to help our customers operate reliably, safely and cost effectively.
We have positions available in several locations throughout the South East Texas and Gulf Coast region, including at our corporate office, working onsite directly with customers, or a combination thereof.

DCS configuration and PLC programming, such as:
Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)Alarm ManagementBurner ManagementHMI graphics (iFIX)Simple or complex loopsBatchLadder logicSCADA
Participate in designing, configuring, testing, debugging and documenting user applications in various software productsApply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logicAct as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products, especially relating to problem diagnosis and resolutionDiscover inspiring methods that bring great value to the customer by identifying and providing innovative solutionsExpertise in implementing automation strategies, optimizing process control, and investigate process control related issues by coordinating with plant process and control engineersExperience with Cloud Based Virtual environments and knowledge of basic network architectures.Plan and execute software version upgrade releases and custom interfacesCan you answer yes to the following questions? Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant software/computer related fields, or two to four years related experience and/or training.Related experience includes spreadsheet manipulation or database manipulation and macro development. Additional experience preferred with any DCS systems such as Operator Display implementation, I/O database implementation and Control Strategy implementation.Able to work both independently and collaboratively alongside Puffer-Sweiven's customers, management, and sales organizationAbility to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and algorithms to practical and complex situationsAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form that apply to several abstract and concrete variablesAbility to effectively use the following computer applications: Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Database software, Networking, PC and mainframe systems.Areas of Interest
