Administrative Assistant - Resource Planning (NE 4-6)
System Planning - Alabama
This position will be located at APC Headquarters in Birmingham, AL
JOB SUMMARY
This position will provide administrative support for the Resource Planning department at Alabama Power. The successful candidate will handle all aspects of administrative support for the department, including direct support for the department manager as well as general support as needed for other leaders and staff. Reporting to work expectations is a minimum of 3 office days per week.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma required
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Secretarial/administrative certification (Certified Administrative Professional or similar) a plus
Experience:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Two years of recent administrative or similar experience supporting a team (examples include coordination of travel and meeting arrangements, expense and invoice processing, time keeping, and calendar management)
Experience working in a corporate setting
Experience working with all levels of management is highly preferred
Experience utilizing Southern Company's internal systems is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support to director and team
Administer time reporting, expense reporting, and invoice processing for the department
Maintain office supplies and an orderly, safe work environment
Make travel arrangements for department manager and staff as needed
Schedule meetings and make meeting arrangements such as room setup, managing invitations, and meal arrangements as needed
Provide calendar management and support for the department manager, proactively identifying conflicts and resolving with the manager as necessary
Complete monthly recurring departmental reports
Serve as back up to other functional areas within System Planning when required
Other administrative items as identified or assigned
