Description

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Job Corps. The Administrative Assistant will support various levels of government personnel including Executive Director's, Deputy Director's and supporting DOL staff.

Requirements

The Administrative Assistant provides support including, but not limited to, the management of the following disciplines:

Reviewing all outgoing documents submitted to the National Director for signature to ensure proper format, grammar, and conformance with desired style;Drafting routine correspondence;Developing and editing routine business documents (e.g.,memorandums, standard operating procedures);Proofing and editing policy and official documents;Updating and assisting with the preparation of relevant policy and program guidance;Developing and tracking correspondence using the DOL electronic system;Maintaining and distributing document templates;Developing and updating standard operating procedures;Answering phones; andOther related administrative tasks as requiredPreferred Skills and Qualifications:

Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written, displaying the use of proper grammar and punctuation.Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications.Experience providing and organizing departmental events and executive leadership conferences.High School Diploma and 5-7 years of administrative experience supporting executive level personnel within a federal agency.
